Check-in: Week 2

This week was tough. I set an ambitious goal of writing to page 60. I was only at page 48 this morning, and reached page 58 just now. I'm burnt out of writing for today, so I'm going to wrap things up two pages short of my goal. I'm sure I can make it up next week.

I sent out several emails to several productions in the area this week, hoping to get myself some on-set time. One nearly happened, but got canceled at the last minute. This shouldn't be a hard goal to meet this month, but I'm beginning to wonder...

I started writing down movie ideas... well, I wrote one (it's actually an idea from Talia), but I've got the document set up now, so new ideas have a place to go. Hopefully, that'll encourage me to write them down.

I finished my monthly movie-watching quota (finished quite early, actually... should I increase the requirement?) and I wrote three out of four of my required "Musing Pictures" posts. My post on "Defiance" got syndicated to my father's site, and is generating some interest and attention.

I made some progress on a couple more website pages. I really want to get the "Blood and Stone" page up and running soon -- the film was accepted to a festival in Virginia, and it would be great if I could get the page up by the screening date (8/27).

In order to finish my screenplay by the end of the month, I've got to write roughly 30 pages per week. I know I can do it if nothing crazy comes up. It'll require a lot of motivation, and a lot of discipline.

So, wrapping up week 2, I'd say I'm only doing okay. Next week, I'm going to work harder, but I could use more support, too. Ask me how far along I am every so often, and that'll help me keep focused on the writing.

And so, farwell to week 2, and onward to week 3!
