It has been a productive week or so since my last post. I've basically finished casting for "Just the Ticket", the new OxRock short (and the first of this year's quota of short films I've assigned to myself. That, in itself, is a big step. Once other people are involved, I can't just say "I don't feel like it" -- there's no room to wimp out on a project once there are other creative minds in play.
I'm well on course to meet my film viewing and critique writing goals for the month, too. Most recently, I saw "Where the Wild Things Are", and wrote about it at http://musingpictures.blogspot.com. I don't expect to have any trouble meeting this particular goal this month.
I also secured a small job for myself for the next several months. I'll be leading a video project with students at the S. S. Cardin school. I'm excited to begin next week.
So, bit by bit, the month is coming together.
I'm not so sure my website is coming together quite as quickly as I'd have hoped. I have a template set up for the film pages (under "Motion Pictures" at www.oxrockproductions.com), but I still haven't perfected that template, and in the meantime, it's taking a while to put up pages. That said, I fixed a problem with the mailing lists, and I've re-established the OxRock Consulting subdomain, as well as various old (and important) OxRock email addresses. One step at a time, and eventually, the site will be up and running. I want to update the OxRock news blog more frequently, but I imagine that'll come with time... for now, I'll just be happy if more film pages go up over the next week.
The Golem movie is on the verge of cresting the 200 viewer mark on youtube. It's not too many people, but it's a milestone I've been watching for at least a couple of weeks. If any of you can think of people who might appreciate or enjoy the short, please send it to them! you can see it here: Blood and Stone: A Legend of the Golem
Well, that's everything! Until next week...
