I've been waiting (patiently, I think) for the editors to assemble a first cut of "A Glimpse of the Soul". It hasn't been easy, but I've tried to busy myself with other projects in the meantime.
I directed an episode of "Jewbellish the News" for my friend, Mendy Pellin.
With over 14,000 views so far, I consider it a moderate success!
I really enjoy working with Mendy -- he's creative, energetic, and a generous collaborator.
I'm also working with Scott Baker again (he was the DP on "Glimpse"). This time, he's directing (and shooting) and I'm AD/UPM on a trailer shoot for a sci-fi novel called "Rymyny". We shot our first day yesterday, and if all goes well, we'll wrap this evening.
Next week, I'll direct a short film with Lauren Byrnes, an actress I've been hoping to work with for a while. I wrote this short script for her months ago, but we never found the time to pull the production together. Scott will shoot, and Jason Moran (sound guy from "Glimpse") will make sure it sounds good.
And of course, I'm still pushing "Wayfarers" forward...
Nothing like having a bunch of irons in the fire. It feels good to be busy like this, even if it can get a little tricky juggling it all. It's going to get especially exciting when the assembly cut of "Glimpse" is ready!
